Microsoft to Work with Talend to Ensure High Performance of Talend´s Open Source Data Integration Solutions on Windows

LOS ALTOS, Calif. – January 22, 2008 – Talend, the first provider of open source data integration software, today announced plans to work together with Microsoft to optimize Talend´s software on the Microsoft Windows platform. Talend´s flagship solution, Talend Open Studio, has been downloaded over 150,000 times. Given Microsoft´s continued commitment to develop interoperable solutions that meet customer needs, the company will dedicate resources to ensure high performance and seamless integration of the Talend software with Windows.

With a significant number of Talend´s customer base currently running Microsoft Windows, the companies are working together to optimize performance of Talend´s software products on the Windows platform. In addition, the current versions of Talend´s software, which include Talend Open Studio, for individual users, Talend On Demand, its SaaS offering and Talend Integration Suite, for enterprise teams, now include support for widely used Microsoft applications such as Axapta, Dynamics NAV, Microsoft CRM and Dynamics GP. Also, since its inception, Talend has supported Microsoft SQL Server database and will continue to do so.

Over 50% of open source applications deployed in the enterprise are running on Windows systems,” said Sam Ramji, director of platform technology strategy at Microsoft. “This is true both in departmental computing and in the datacenter. Our work with Talend further exemplifies our commitment to interoperability and open source, expanding our customers´ options for data integration, and extending both Windows and SQL Server.

“At the end of the day it is about customer satisfaction and being able to choose the platform of their choice,” said Bertrand Diard, CEO of Talend. “Our collaboration with Microsoft will enable our customers to leverage their existing Windows infrastructure to deploy our data integration solutions at optimal speed and performance, without breaking the budget. Microsoft is an important provider of databases and packaged applications. It is our goal to make it as easy as possible to integrate all components of the information system comprised of both open source and proprietary systems and applications. We are proud to be included in Microsoft´s program and recognized as a key open source and data integration contributor.
