According to research firm Canalys, the global PC market is set to grow by 8% in 2024 and rise in excess of 10% in 2025. Here’s why.  WW PC PR Q3 2023
In addition, Canalys research indicates that AI-enabled PCs will make up around 60% of all PCs shipped in 2027 and, between now and then, this sector is set to rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 64%.

What’s Unfolding
A major PC upgrade – and surge in sales – beginning in 2024/2025 as a result of advances in AI technology is unfolding and is creating compelling opportunities in PC stocks:

  • Dell Technologies Inc. (DELL) plans to launch the first generation of what’s being referred to as “AI PCs” – AI-enabled PCs  that come with advanced chips capable of running large-language models and apps powered by the technology directly on the device, instead of the cloud, allowing for AI to be run locally on the computers themselves and being able to be used whenever and wherever – even without an internet connection. • HP, Inc. (HPQ) CEO Enrique Lores has conveyed (see here) that HP is currently developing AI-enabled PCs that will enable users to perform tasks such as spreadsheet building and data analysis in record time and that these innovative PC models are anticipated to hit the market as early as 2024 which could drive significant momentum in the category, and double the growth of PCs. • Lenovo Group Limited (LNVGY) Executive Vice President, Luca Rossi maintains that “it’s going to be one of the biggest things we’ve ever seen in advancing the overall PC market.” Source
  • Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Head of OEM PC Jason Banta, believes the introduction of the AI PC will be the next technological revolution, highlighting that the AI capabilities that already benefit the cloud and servers will be brought to the hardware level. The AI PC will personally assist with tasks that are typically time-consuming and save costs – cloud AI is expensive –  be more secure and be more private in the process adding that the transition to AI PCs is going to happen very quickly and be truly revolutionary in advancing the overall PC market. • With all the above happening we will most likely see a snowball effect with the first launch of consumer-oriented AI PCs. As Luke Lango Source it, one person will buy an AI-enabled PC, then everyone around them will realize how cool it is to have artificial intelligence built into their own computer and buy one, and suddenly, everyone will want to own their own AI PC. In addition, companies will begin to replace their current PCs with these next-gen PCs to get the power of AI into their employees’ hands.

    Conclusion
Given the above insights it suggests that the future is bright for companies such as Dell Technologies, HP Inc., and Lenovo Group as they capitalize on the coming AI PC boom.More By This Author:These 10 Large-Cap AI Stocks Continue In Bubble Mode
