Harvest related selling will be slowed as progress reached 59% complete, vs. 54% on average. Interior US basis strength remains intact, and end users in need of short term supply may push for additional bushels as heavy rainfall stretches from Kansas to Ohio tomorrow and into the weekend. We are also watching South American weather, but the weather will not impact first-crop yield potential until December, and it’s difficult to be bearish or bullish into mid-November. Also, Argentina is bracing for welcome weekend rain while precipitation stays erratic in Northern Brazil. The South American forecast, on balance is drier in Mato Grasso, Goias, and far Northern Brazil into the first week of November. Excessively heavy rain returns to already-soaked areas of Southern Brazil. Near normal precipitation and temperatures are forecast in Argentina. In the overnight electronic session the December corn is currently trading at 487 ¼ which is 3 cents lower. The trading range has been 491 ½ to 486 ¼.On the Ethanol Front enlarged US export demand is desired, but ethanol production remains the best since 2021. Brazil’s cash corn index is unchanged at $4.95. Whispers in the US cash market made it’s low 30 days ago. We also have to realize that Brazil have dual commodities blending ethanol with corn and sugarcane base. Their producers and maritime transport along with the sugarcane industries are investing into better ways to produce and move ethanol on the high seas. There were no trades or open interest in ethanol futures.Have A Great Trading Day!More By This Author:Energy & Food + Winter – The Corn & Ethanol ReportFed Talking Hawkish – The Corn & Ethanol ReportCommodities On The Move.
